The purpose of the survey is to know public awareness on the 3Rs system and to find out the level of public awareness on avoidance of plastic waste, environmental consequences of plastic waste, and what can be improved for better user experience and customer journey, from awareness to purchase and advocacy. For instance, increasing public understanding and reshape community pathways and perceptions on the threats of plastic pollution and available solutions. Thus, empowering more people and organizations can help to bring them into the action.
Thant Myanmar has generated the Questionnaires for the survey. The survey focused places in Pathein, Yangon, and Mandalay areas with the total participants of 632 Face to Face and 1,495 online survey. The result shows that people do not have knowledge of the benefits of alternatives and require to create more public awareness of the availability to access packaging for consumers and producers which are more eco-friendly.
Individual attitudes and habits can help to change the community and the nation by promoting waste sorting and recycling behaviour, responsible commercial processes, and practices which will lead toward the greener, healthier, and cleaner nation for us.
